Namo Izakaya Ramen & Yakitori

I've been here twice. The atmosphere is cozy yet bright. The entire restaurant is clean, including the bathrooms. Service is always very kind and helpful/friendly. Every dish I've had tastes fresh and simply amazing. You can taste the difference in the food here. Photos show a tasty pickled veggie salad, fried tofu, and udon noodles with tofu.

Our family of four (including one son who studied in Japan) recently dined at Namo Izakaya Ramen & Yakitori in Sarasota, FL, and it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a modern yet cozy vibe that perfectly complemented the authentic Japanese cuisine. We kicked off our meal with the Okonomiyaki, a savory cabbage pancake that was an absolute standout. Made with egg, scallions, parsley, bonito flakes, a drizzle of spicy mayo, and okonomi sauce, it was a harmonious blend of textures and flavors—crisp yet tender, savory with just the right kick of spice. It set the tone for the rest of the meal and had us wanting more. For our main dishes, we opted for a mix of ramen and yakitori options. The Creamy Curry was a comforting ramen bowl of rich, velvety broth paired with tender white-meat chicken and perfectly cooked noodles. The Tokyo Blaze brought a bold, fiery twist that didn’t overpower the dish but instead highlighted the quality of the beef and the depth of the accompanying sauce and perfectly-cooked rice. We also tried the Yakiniku, a beef dish that was flavorful and seasoned to perfection, showcasing the restaurant’s skill with yakitori. Everything we ordered felt authentic and thoughtfully prepared, with fresh ingredients and a clear passion for Japanese cuisine shining through. The portions were generous, the service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive, and the overall experience left us eager to return. Namo Izakaya Ramen & Yakitori is a gem in Sarasota for anyone craving a taste of Japan done right—our family can’t wait to go back!

My family and I love this place. I’ve been a few times and have had a great experience each time. The staff are all very helpful. They helped us with the menu, and are all very kind. I love getting the chicken karaage, the gyoza, and the ramen. Also they have a new flavor of cake each month. I have tried two of them and they were both amazing!!

Every once in a while, I stumble across a hole-in-the-wall spot that makes me feel like I’ve hit the jackpot and this place delivered! The ramen was so good, I was questioning my passport status because it tasted like I was in Japan. Hands down, the best I’ve had in the U.S. so far. I’m already planning my next visit...which might be tomorrow. Or later today.

We had dinner there after a day on the Ocean. The Ramen was incredibly tasty and the perfect size. The service was just as great. You can't go wrong. Yeah, a bit pricey, but you'll see why.

February 7 2025 - Two for dinner before the theatre. I have about 57 restaurants flagged in my Sarasota area Yelp folder. Never been here?!! Seated quickly and had a nice table. The place isn't big but you can have your own space. the folks behind me were a bit loud but not horribly so. My wife got 2 cabernets with the meal, they were a good pour and at 12 per very reasonable. We got an appetizer to split, the Okonomiyaki for 10. It was very nice. My wife got the Creamy Curry which I see now here has some very good reviews as well!! It was a bargain and awesome for 18. I was eyeballing the vegan dish but got distracted on this mushroom, seaweed, miso, bok choy number: Yasai Miso. WOW was that ever good!!!!! Maybe my go to dinner. A Nutritarian's Dinner Dream Dish!!! 18 ???? I felt do guilty I over tipped.... Actually about that. The service here was STELLER!!!! My receipt said Sandy as the cashier but I don't think she was our server? She was awesome, made some great suggestions and navigated us through the menu with our likes and dislikes!!! Guys & Gals, a really nice job. We are definitely coming back and probably in April for sure for my daughters 24th birthday SHE LOVES Ramen!!!

After eating here 3/4 times I’m convinced this is one of the best restaurants on Main Street. The fried chicken wings are some of the crunchiest and most delicious morsels you’ll ever try couldn’t recommend them enough. Karaage Chicken was also a big hit for me. I’ve enjoyed all the ramens I’ve tried but I really loved the savory umami flavor in the Yaki Udon. I’m a big fan of the Unagi Don as well.

Easily my favorite Ramen restaurant I've visited. The flavors, textures, and aromas were exquisitely combined to make phenomenal dishes. The fried nori was exemplary. The Yakitori had a wonderful charred taste in the way only food toasted over crackling wood fire can taste. There is no true imitation for this savory palette delight. The presentation and service was wonderfully prompt, polite, and timely. If anything on the menu looks as good as it sounds, it almost certainly is. And you should go get it as soon as you can.
